Bharatanatyam, the Tradition of South India

Bharatanatyam  the oldest classical dance of India is considered as the mother of many other Indian Classical Dances. It is  originated in Tamil Nadu, the Southern state of India and practiced mainly in the Shiva temples of Tamil Nadu and adjacent areas. The dancers are considered the God and Goddes in this Traditional Dance. It also depicts the various Mudras of Hindu God 'Shiva' also known as 'Nataraj'.  Bharatanatyam makes the body and  mind agile and divine. This typical South Indian dance style  has gained a remarkable identity all over India and in many other foreign countries.
